The French pay-TV group Canal+ has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights, in France, to the UEFA Youth League, on 11/09/2015. Canal+ did not indicate the duration of the agreement with UEFA for the broadcasting of this competition, reserved for players under the age of 19. Canal+ will broadcast "the best fixtures of the 14 matchdays" of the Youth League, or two to four games per week of the competition.

At the same time, the German TV group Sport1, which offers both paying and free-TV content, has acquired the same exclusive broadcast rights to the UEFA Youth League, in Germany, for three seasons, 2015-16 through 2017-18. Sport1 has committed to broadcasting "at least" 39 games of the competition per season, and indicated that games could be broadcast across all of its platforms: free-TV, pay-TV, and possibly also solely via live streaming on Sport1.de.

  • In both France and Germany, the TV rights of the UEFA Youth League, whose 2015-16 edition is the first to be contested by 64 teams (against 32 previously), were previously held by the pay-TV group Eurosport during 2013-2015.
