"The investigation has expanded since May, and we do anticipate pursuing additional charges against additional individuals and entities," said Loretta E. Lynch, attorney general of the United States, during a joint press conference with Michael Lauber, the Swiss attorney general, to discuss the two proceedings currently underway in connection with FIFA, in Zurich (SUI), on 14/09/2015.

The US and Swiss justices have publicly announced investigations in connections with FIFA since 27/05/2015:

• The American Department of Justice released an indictment against 14 people - including seven FIFA leaders arrested in Zurich - for charges of racketeering, wire fraud and corruption over a 24 year period, on 27/05/2015.
• In Switzerland, the Public Ministry of the Confederation (MPC) announced, on 27/05/2015, to have opened "criminal proceedings against unknown persons" investigating suspicions of mismanagement and money laundering surrounding the allocations of both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in Russia and Qatar respectively.
