"FIFA supports the actions of the U.S. and Swiss authorities and we will continue to do so, no matter how close to home those investigations get. This is the difficult path we must follow if we are serious about change," wrote Joseph Blatter, FIFA president, in a column published in the FIFA Weekly magazine, on 25/09/2015, on the same day that criminal proceedings were opened against him by the Swiss Justice "for mismanagement and, alternatively, breach of trust."

"We need to show that we understand the severity of this situation and that we are ready to take the right steps to fix it," added Blatter in the column entitled "Reform must be global."

The FIFA president canceled the press conference he had scheduled on 25/09/2015, after the meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Federation in Zurich (SUI), on 24 and 25/09/2015.

"The highly regrettable events this year have made it painfully clear that the 2011 reforms have not been enough" (Joseph Blatter, FIFA Weekly, on 25/09/2015)
