MP & Silva is working on the creation of a North and South Americas Champions League

The British media rights and marketing agency MP & Silva are currently working on the creation of the Americas Champions League, a competition that will be contested by the best clubs in the CONCACAF and CONMEBOL zones, according to the American media, on 21 and 22/09/2015.

"The possibility of having U.S. teams compete against some of the best teams in Brazil and Argentina could help to raise the overall quality of football at an elevated rate, The Americas also have a combined population that is 30 percent higher than that of Europe, which shows the commercial potential of this idea," said Riccardo Silva, chairman of MP & Silva, to the American specialist media firm Sports Business Journal, on 21/09/2015.

Riccardo Silva believes that the Americas Champions League would generate $500m (approximately €450m) in media and marketing revenues per season, five times more than the current combined revenues of the Copa Libertadores (equivalent to the CONMEBOL Champions League) and the CONCACAF Champions League. $440m (€395m) would be donated every season to the 64 participating clubs, 16…
