The Chinese media rights agency Ti'ao Dongli Sports Media Ltd. has won the tender of the domestic TV rights to the 2016-2020 Chinese Super League, on 25/09/2015. Ti'ao Dongli will pay a guaranteed minimum of ¥8bn (€1.12bn as of 28/09/2015) over the period, according to the Chinese media:
• ¥1bn (€140m) during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
• ¥2bn (€280m) during the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons.

The average annual amount of the TV broadcasting rights for the 2016-2020 cycle is 20 times higher than the estimated amount for the 2015 season (¥80m / €11.2m). Ti'ao Dongli now has a week to conclude the contract with the CFA (Chinese Football Association).

If negotiations fail, the CFA will negotiate with the second ranked company in the tender, namely, the broadcaster Great Sports Channel.

  • Ti'ao Dongli Sports Media Ltd. is a company based in Beijing (CHN).
  • It has been the media rights partner of the Chinese Super League since its creation in 2004.
  • The agency has also owned the domestic TV rights of the Chinese national team since March 2015.
