Matchday 8 of the 2015-16 Ligue 1 season was attended by an average of 20,994 spectators per match from 25 to 27/09/2015. The average attendance of the French championship is currently at 21,014 spectators per match for 2015-16, or down 1,323 spectators (-5.9%) from the 2014-15 season. The average fill rate in Ligue 1 for 2015-16 is 69%.

The Olympique de Marseille - Angers SCO (1-2) match attracted the highest official attendance of the matchday with 44,520 spectators (recorded as tickets sold), according to figures from the LFP. However, the actual attendance of the match was 22,028 spectators actually in the stadium. The difference is explained by the closure of the North and South stands of the Stade Velodrome, following incidents during the match against Olympique Lyonnais (1-1, Matchday 6, on 20/09/2015).

Montpellier Hérault SC - FC Lorient (2-1) drew the lowest attendance of the weekend, with 10,518 spectators at the Stade de la Mosson (32,950 seats), a 32% fill rate. The match between LOSC Lille - FC Nantes (0-1, Matchday 7) was shifted to Tuesday, 29/09/2015.
