FIFA: Chung Mong-joon wants an emergency taskforce to temporarily manage the international body

"FIFA and the regional confederations should consider convening extraordinary sessions of their respective executive committees as well as congresses to set up an emergency taskforce that will enable the FIFA secretariat to function without interruption," said the South Korean Chung Mong-joon, a FIFA presidential candidate, on 29/09/2015.

These remarks came after recent, separate investigations into Joseph Blatter, the FIFA president, and Jerome Valcke, the former FIFA secretary general. Swiss Justice has opened a criminal case against Joseph Blatter, under suspicion of "criminal mismanagement and, alternatively, misappropriation", on 25/09/2015. Jerome Valcke was relieved of his duties as secretary general "with immediate effect and until further notice" by FIFA on 17/09/2015. He is suspected of being involved in a black market ticket resale scheme at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
