Europa League: 2.78 million viewers watch PAOK - Dortmund, a record audience for Sport1

PAOK Thessaloniki FC - Borussia Dortmund (1-1, Group C), Matchday 2 of the 2015-16 Europa League group stage, attracted an average of 2.78 million viewers in Germany on the private free-TV channel Sport1 on Thursday 01/10/2015 (kick-off at 21:05 CET). This figure represents a 10.4% audience share of the entire German public and allowed Sport1 to achieve the 11th best performance of the day in the German TV market.

This is the best audience achieved by the German sports channel, since it began operating under the Sport1 brand (in April 2010). Under its previous name of DSF, the record audience of the channel was achieved on 27/09/2006, during the second half of the Champions League match between SV Werder Bremen - FC Barcelona (1-1, Group A Matchday 2), which had gathered an average of 4.77 million viewers (the match was co-broadcast by the pay-TV group Premiere, now Sky Deutschland).

  • In Germany, the game between PAOK - Borussia Dortmund was co-broadcast by the pay-TV channel Sky Sports HD 2, whose viewing figures for which were not disclosed.
