American Sunil Gulati joins FIFA's Executive Committee

Sunil Gulati, 53, President of the USSF (U.S. Soccer Federation), has been elected for a four year term on FIFA's Executive Committee on 19/04/2013, at the Congress of CONCACAF (Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean), held in Panama City.

He replaces his colleague Chuck Blazer, 68, on the committee since 1997, who announced his intention to leave on 16/02/2013.

Sunil Gulati will be installed on the Executive Committee at FIFA's 63rd annual conference on 30 and 31/05/2013 in Mauritius.

He was replaced in the CONCACAF Executive Committee by the president of the Canadian Federation, Victor Montagliani. The president of CONCACAF, Jeffrey Webb (Cayman Islands), 48, was elected Vice President of the FIFA Executive Committee, a position he has held since 25/05/2012.
