Premier League: Mexican beer Tecate becomes a regional partner of Manchester City

Tecate, the Mexican beer brand belonging to the Heineken group, has become a regional partner of Manchester City FC (Premier League) the club announced on 02/10/2015.

The brand is also a partner of FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF (both Liga BBVA) and Juventus (Serie A TIM), as well as becoming linked to Paris Saint-Germain FC (Ligue 1) in Mexican territory for a period of five seasons (2015-16 to 2019-20) in July 2015. The brewer also sponsors seven clubs in the Liga MX: CD Guadalajara, Cruz Azul FC, Club Tijuana, Querétaro FC, Tiburones Veracruz, CF Monterrey and Tigres UANL -- the latter the club of the French international André-Pierre Gignac.

Manchester City are linked to the Heineken brand in the UK; to Singha in Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar; and Hansa Pilsener in South Africa until 2016-17. The club generated £165.8m (€224m) in commercial revenue in 2013-14, an increase of 16% from the 2012-13 season (£143m; €193m).
