Cameroon: "more than 100 candidates" for the position of coach

Fécafoot (Cameroon Football Federation) has received over 100 applications for the position of national coach, according to Junior Binyam, head of communications and marketing on 25/04/2013.

According to Binyam, the 100 applications include the out of work Swede Sven-Goran Eriksson, Italian Marco Simone and French Pierre Lechantre.

Coaches currently with other clubs are also mentioned, including the French Le Roy (Democratic Republic of Congo), Paul Le Guen (Oman) and Roger Lemerre (CS Constantine, Algeria).

The candidates must posses "football coach qualifications, have good international experience, be willing to reside permanently in Cameroon during the term of the contract and have knowledge of French or English" .

Cameroonian Jean-Paul Akono maintains his position as interim coach following the suspension of Denis Lavagne on 13/09/2012.
