FIFA: Joseph Blatter and Michel Platini suspended 90 days "of any activity in football"

Joseph Blatter (SUI), the FIFA president, Michel Platini (FRA), the UEFA president, and Jerome Valcke (FRA), the FIFA secretary geveral (already placed on leave) have been suspended for 90 days, announced the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee on 08/10/2015. These suspensions may be extended for an additional period not exceeding 45 days, added the FIFA Ethics Committee.

The South Korean Chung Mong-joon has also been suspended for six years and fined 100,000 Swiss francs (about €91,500).

These sanctions prohibit the persons concerned from any activity in football, both domestically and internationally. The suspensians take effect immediately (from 08/10/2015).

  • These suspensions came after the recent indictment of Joseph Blatter, the FIFA president, Michel Platini, the UEFA president, and Jerome Valcke, the FIFA secretary general until, in two separate cases:
