FIFA: Blatter, Platini and Valcke suspended for 90 days, while Chung Mong-joon is handed 6 year ban

Joseph Blatter (SUI), the FIFA president, Michel Platini (FRA), the UEFA president, and Jerome Valcke (FRA), the FIFA secretary general (already placed on leave) have been suspended for 90 days, announced the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee on 08/10/2015. These suspensions may be extended for an additional period not exceeding 45 days, added the FIFA Ethics Committee.

Former FIFA vice-president Chung Mong-joon (KOR) has also been banned for six years and fined 100,000 Swiss francs (about €91,500). "The proceedings against the South Korean football official Chung Mong-joon were opened in January 2015 based on findings in the report on the investigation into the bidding process for the 2018/2022 FIFA World Cups," indicated FIFA in their press release, on 08/10/2015.

These sanctions prohibit the persons concerned from any activity in football, both domestically and internationally. The suspensions will come into effect immediately (from 08/10/2015).
