Bayern: board refuses Uli Hoeness' resignation

The supervisory board of Bayern Munich met on 06/05/2013 and decide to reject the resignation of President Uli Hoeness, charged with tax evasion on 20/03/2013.

"The supervisory board will continue to monitor the matter and will return to the subject once there are further developments" said the club in a press release on 06/05/2013.

The German weekly newspaper Der Spiegel revealed on 05/05/2013 that Hoeness would be notified at the next Supervisory Board, of the temporary suspension of his duties following the Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund on 25/05/2013.

Uli Hoeness was charged with tax evasion, and subsequently released on bail on 20/03/2013. He confessed to the tax authorities in January 2013, of holding an account in Switzerland for ten years, on which he could have paid several million euros, without paying tax on the interest generated.
