The American sports equipment brand Nike has signed an agreement to become the new kit supplier of VfL Wolfsburg (Bundesliga) -- replacing the Italian brand Kappa -- for a club record amount of €8m per year over 10 seasons (2016-17 to 2025-26), announced the German magazine Kicker on 12/10/2015.

Kappa announced their intention to end their agreement with the club after the 2015-16 season on 02/10/2015. The Italian company, which replaced adidas in July 2014, had a contract ending in 2018-19. However, the contract included a clause allowing the club to prematurely terminate this partnership, which was estimated at €3m per year, excluding bonuses.

  • VfL Wolfsburg finished second in the 2014-15 Bundesliga and won the 2014-15 DFB Pokal (3-1 against Borussia Dortmund, on 30/05/2015).
