Premier League: international audiovisual revenues exceed €4bn for 2016 to 2019 cycle (+34.5%)

The sale of international TV rights to the Barclays Premier League for the 2016-2019 cycle will bring £3bn (€4.05bn as of 13/10/2015), or 34.5% more than during the 2013- 2016 cycle (£2.23bn, €3bn), according to estimates by the British newspaper The Daily Mail on 08/10/2015.

Before the start of this new cycle, the international audiovisual revenues of only the 2015-16 Premier League season (€1bn) exceeded those of the four other major European championships combined (LaLiga hopes for €600m, a guaranteed minimum of €185m for the Serie A TIM, €154m for the Bundesliga and €42.5m for the Ligue 1 -- so €981.5m in total). Additionally, the domestic audiovisual revenues for the 2015-16 Premier League season (£1.07bn / €1.43bn) equal approximately half of the total of the other four major European championships (Serie A TIM: €987m; Bundesliga: €663m, Liga BBVA: €630m; Ligue 1: €607m -- so €2,887m cumulative).
