Telecoms company BT is to offer customers access to free Premier League football coverage. This move is a signal of intent to challenge BSkyB's dominance of the UK's football pay-TV market.

BT already have a 3 year deal with the rights to 38 Premier League games per season. From next season, however, all BT Broadband customers will get to watch these matches for free.

BT's chief executive, Ian Livingston said, "UK sports fans have had a rough deal for too long. Many have been priced out of the market, but we will change this by giving away BT Sport for free with our broadband. Sports fans are the winners today."
