The UEFA Executive Committee met in Nyon (SUI) on 15/10/2015, and decided to reaffirm its support for Michel Platini, UEFA president currently suspended for 90 days from any activity in football, since 08/10/2015. The 54 national federations under the European Confederation also met the same day at UEFA headquarters, and also provided unanimous support and "absolute confidence" in Michel Platini.

"We support Michel Platini's right to a due process and a fair trial and to the opportunity to clear his name. We strongly call on all instances involved in the current process: FIFA's Ethics Committee, FIFA's Appeal Committee and, ultimately, the Court of Arbitration for Sport to work very rapidly to ensure that there is a final decision on the merits of the case by, at the latest, mid-November 2015," stated UEFA on 15/10/2015.

  • The charges against Michel Platini concern "a disloyal payment of 2m Swiss Francs to Michel Platini, UEFA president, at the expense of FIFA, which was allegedly made for work performed between January 1999 and June 2002; this payment was executed in February 2011,"
