Man City: record turnover of €489m in 2014-15, the first profitable year since acquisition in 2008

Manchester City FC (Barclays Premier League) achieved a record turnover of £351.8m (€489m on 31/05/2015) during the 2015 financial year (01/06/2014 to 31/05/2015), up 1.5% from 2014 (£346.5m / €426.2m on 31/05/2014), stated the "Citizens" on 14/10/2015.

The club recorded a £4.1m decline in its matchday revenue (£47.5m / €58.4m in 2014 against £43.3m / €60.2m in 2015, -9.5 %), but realised a £7.2m in additional commercial revenue (from £165.8m / €203.9m in 2014 to £173m / €240.5m in 2015, + 4.3%). Operating expenses amounted to £350.6m (€487.4m), down 4.2% from 2014 (£366.2m / €450.4m). The City wage bill fell by £11.2m between 31/05/2014 (£205m / €252.2m) and 31/05/2015 (£193.8m / €269.4m), or -5.5%.

Manchester City achieved an operating income, before transfer activities, of £72.2m (€100.4m) in 2015. After deducting amortisation of player contracts (£70.3m / €97.7m), the operating income amounted to nearly £2m (€2.8m), compared to a loss of £17.9m (€22m) in 2014.
