"I don't know. Let's just say I have my doubts. Anyway, all it came out from the moment I asked him to resign and announced my candidacy," said Michel Platini, the UEFA president, on 19/10/2015, in response to a question about the possible involvement of Joseph Blatter, the FIFA president, in the current investigation into both leaders which has led to their suspension from all football activity for 90 days.

"I'm the only one who can ensure that FIFA can once again become the home of football, but every time I get close to the sun, like Icarus, everything is burning," added Michel Platini in an interview for Le Monde, on 19/10/2015.

Michel Platini and Joseph Blatter were both suspended for a period of 90 days from any activity in football at national and international level by the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee on 08/10/2015.
