The average attendance of the championship is currently at 20,438 spectators per match, or 1,899 persons less (-9.3%) then the 2014-15 season. The average Ligue 1 fill rate was 67% in 2015-16.

The match between Olympique de Marseille - FC Lorient (1-1) attracted the largest crowd of the weekend, with 32,232 spectators at the Stade Velodrome, according to figures from the LFP. The south stand was closed following incidents during the match between Marseille - Olympique Lyonnais (1-1, Ligue 1 Matchday 6, on 20/09/2015). The match between AS Monaco FC - Olympique Lyonnais (1-1) was played in front of the smallest crowd of the weekend (9,513 spectators).
