France is the country with the most expatriate players in the European Top 5 leagues (CIES)

Since the start of the 2015-16 season, 105 French players have featured in matches within the other four European Top 5 leagues (excluding, of course, Ligue 1), which makes France the country with the most expatriate players in the other Top 5 leagues, according to the weekly "Big 5 letter" of the CIES Football Observatory, published on 19/10/2015.

With 105 expatriate players combined in the Premier League (40), Liga BBVA (27), Serie A TIM (27), and the Bundesliga (11), France is ahead of Brazil (104 players) and Argentina (79 players). The respective totals of all the countries involved in the study include expatriate players in all of the European Top 5 leagues, except for Spain, England, Germany, Italy and France whose totals, of course, only take into account expatriate players in the other four Top 5 leagues.

French players represent the largest contingent of foreign players in the Premier League and the Liga BBVA, the second largest in Serie A TIM and the fourth largest in the Bundesliga.
