Bundesliga: launch of a new Wi-Fi service at Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt

Stadion Frankfurt Management GmbH, the operating company of the Commerzbank Arena (51,500 seats) in Frankfurt (GER), announced the modernisation of the Wi-Fi infrastructure of the enclosure, on 20/10/2015.

The number of Wi-Fi antennas has been increased by 10 throughout the stadium, and infrastructure was optimised in the Business Club. The project is run jointly with the three telecom operators: Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone Germany and Telefónica. The new Wi-Fi facilities were tested during the Eintracht Frankfurt - VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach match(1-5, Matchday 9 of the Bundesliga), before 50,700 spectators, on 17/10/2015.

Stadium users that are customers of the Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone telecom operators can now have access to an LTE connection up to 150 Mbit/s in the stadium (3G and 4G). Customers of Telefónica can count on the same solution in the coming weeks, according to the operator of the stadium.
