UEFA: €85m in solidarity payments made to national leagues and associations in 2014-15

Of the €1.419bn of revenues generated by the Champions League (annual average for the 2012-2015 cycle), €85m was distributed by UEFA to leagues and national associations as solidarity payments in 2014-15, according to the European body on 16/10/2015.

This sum shall be used for the development of youth and social engagement programmes of the clubs that did not participate in the 2014-15 edition of the Champions League. It is redistributed to these clubs by their professional league or federation, "who must provide UEFA with detailed information on the payments made," said the European body.

The €85m will be distributed among the different leagues and national associations as follows:
• €71.1m to the 18 national associations who were represented in the 2014-15 Champions League group stage.
• €11m to the 36 other European national associations.
• €2.9m divided equally between the 19 national associations represented in the qualifying rounds for the group stage (20 clubs).
