USA: new US Soccer Hall of Fame to be built at the Toyota Stadium of FC Dallas (MLS)

FC Dallas (MLS) have unveiled a $39m (€34.4m) plan to renovate 9,300 square meters of space at Toyota Stadium, including new dressing rooms, premium seats, a private club and the construction of National Soccer Hall of Fame Museum for the United States, announced the franchise on 14/10/2015. The Toyota Stadium is a 20,500-seater enclosrure opened in 2005 in the town of Frisco, near Dallas (Texas, USA).

The work should begin in the first quarter 2016, and end by 15/12/2017, to allow use of the renovated stadium for the start of the 2018 MLS season, stated Dan Hunt, president of FC Dallas. The Hall of Fame will be installed in the South Stand, nearly 2300 square meters. The collection will include trophies from MLS, the World Cup and Women's Gold Cup. In total, the museum will house more than 80,000 objects.

Inaugurated in 1999, the US Soccer Hall of Fame, based in Oneonta (New York), closed its doors due to financial problems on 10/02/2010. The Hall of Fame had welcomed 17,000 visitors in 2009.
