ExclusiveEPFL: "We represent the wealth of pro football, but we are not on the FIFA ExCo" (F. Thiriez)

"We organise the national championships, which represent the bulk of the wealth of professional football, but we are not represented on the Executive Committee of FIFA or of UEFA. This cannot remain the case," stated Frederic Thiriez, the president of the EPFL, in his speech at the general assembly of the body in Warsaw (POL) on 23/10/2015, which News Tank Football was able to obtain.

"It is with this as our goal that we wish to establish in the near future a world association of professional football leagues. In December, in Paris (FRA), 30 Leagues from around the world will meet to envisage their common concerns and discuss the future of football. The EPFL will be represented by your 12 board members. FIFA, and also UEFA, must finally understand that we are not opponents, but partners," added Frederic Thiriez, who also the president of the French LFP, and he had already stated in an interview with France Football on 01/06/2015.
