Monday 26/10/2015 is the deadline for submitting the documents to be a candidate in the elections for the presidency of FIFA, scheduled four months later, on 26/02/2016, during an extraordinary FIFA Congress to be held in Zurich (SUI).

On the eve of the 26/10/2015 deadline, four candidates have reportedly filed their documents to FIFA:

• Michel Platini (FRA, UEFA president, currently suspended until 06/01/2016), official candidate since 08/10/2015
• Ali Bin Al Hussein (JOR, former FIFA vice-president), official candidate since 15/10/2015
• David Nakhid (TRI, former Trinidadian international), official candidate since 18/10/2015
• Jérôme Champagne (FRA, former deputy secretary general of FIFA), official candidate since 23/10/2015

The South African Tokyo Sexwale announced his intention to stand on 24/10/2015, and Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa (Bahrain), the president of the AFC, will also be a candidate according to the state-run Bahrain News Agency on 25/10/2015.
