FIFA: "With the support I'll get, we're going to turn FIFA around very quickly" (Sheikh Salman, AFC)

"With the support I'm going to get we're going to turn it (FIFA) around very quickly. We have big examples of football organisations around the world -- the Premier League, the Bundesliga, even UEFA -- who are, from a football side and a revenue side, not greater than FIFA, but they are handled in a very professional way. And this is what we want to bring to FIFA," stated Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the president of the AFC and a candidate for the FIFA presidency, in an interview published on the BBC website on 27/10/2015.

Sheikh Salman (Bahrain), 49 years old, is also currently a FIFA vice-president. According the Bahrain News Agency, he submitted his documents to the FIFA headquarters in Zurich (SUI) on Sunday evening 25/10/2015. He is among eight candidates (see list below) who have indicated that they have formally filed documents to become the ninth president of FIFA, with the elections scheduled for 26/02/2016.
