EPFL: the KPFL (Kazakhstan) becomes the 32nd member of the professional leagues association

The KPFL, the Professional Football League of Kazakhstan, has became the 32nd member of the EPFL, at the first general meeting of the professional leagues association of the 2015-16 season, in Warsaw (POL), on 23/10/2015.

Chaired by Olzhas Abrayev with its headquarters in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, the KPFL is an independant, non-profit organisation, whose aim is to organise professional football in the country. It manages the Premier League and the First League, the first and second Kazakh divisions, each composed of 12 teams.

"We are honored to have the Kazakhstan League joining the European leagues’ family. The EPFL and its member leagues are ready to contribute to further develop professional football in Kazakhstan," said Frederic Thiriez, president of EPFL, during the affiliation ceremony of the KPFL, on 23/10/2015.
