The completion date of the Mane Garrincha stadium in Brasilia (Brazil) has been extended to 18/05/2013. Originally scheduled for delivery in mid-April, heavy rains have delayed the laying of the turf. The stadium must be ready to host the opening match of the FIFA Confederations Cup on the 15/04/2013 between Brazil and Japan.

Two test events have already been scheduled for the 71,500 seater stadium: a regional championship final on 18th May and a youth tournament on the 26th May.

The Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, should by ready by the 27/04/2013 and be tested three times (twice behind closed doors, once with an audience) before the Confederations Cup, which serves as a dress rehearsal one year before the 2014 World Cup.
