UEFA: French telecom group Orange becomes a global sponsor of Euro 2016

The Orange telecommunications group has become a global sponsor of Euro 2016 and will be the official telecommunications provider for the tournament, announced UEFA on 28/10/2015. The French group is the eighth global sponsor of the European Championship. Orange also partnered with UEFA for Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

Orange will provide all of the fixed services and wireless communications for the tournament and will develop exclusive offers for the general public. The French group will provide an infrastructure network including the distribution of live footage from the ten Euro 2016 stadiums to broadcasters and fans around the world. In total, nearly 25,000 access points and mobile services will be deployed to provide connectivity services to the media, staff or volunteers who will be involved in the competition. More than 800 engineers and experts will be assigned to this task, indicated Orange.
