United States: Revolution Growth, Michael Jordan and Mark Cuban invest €40m in Sportradar US

Revolution Growth, a US private investment fund; Michael Jordan, the former basketball star; and Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks NBA franchise, have invested $44m (€40m) into the Swiss company Sportradar, which specialises in the monitoring of sports betting and sports data, to support its expansion into the US market, on the 27/10/2015.

Michael Jordan, Mark Cuban and Ted Leonsis, the co-founder of Revolution Growth and owner of the Washington Capitals (NHL), Washington Wizards (NBA) and Washington Mystics (WNBA), have become members of the advisory board of Sportradar US. The American company SportsData, which was acquired by Sportradar on 02/12/2013 and renamed Sportradar US in March 2015, manages all Sportradar activities in the United States.

Sportradar US is a partner of the NFL and NHL, and covers a total of 325,000 events over 48 sports. This investment, and the arrival of Michael Jordan on the advisory board, should soon lead to Sportradar becoming a partner of the NBA, who will commercialise its statistics from 2016, according to US media.
