FIFA: Reform Committee will adopt "60-70%" of the Scala reforms (Sheikh Al Sabah, Kuwait)

"Just because we (FIFA) are in trouble, we don’t have to kill everything. We have to solve the problems without an over-reaction," said Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah (Kuwait), a member of the FIFA Executive Committee and a member of the FIFA 2016 Reform Committee, on 03/11/2015. Sheikh Al Sabah indicated the Reform Committee will only adopt "60-70%" of the reforms suggested by Domenico Scala’s -- the chairman of the FIFA Audit & Compliance Committee -- eight-point plan for FIFA reform, chief among them is Scala's suggestion for term limits for all FIFA executives.

In a speech to the Association of National Olympic Committees in Washington DC (USA) on 28/10/2015, Sheikh Al Sabah said there is broad support for a maximum of three, four-year mandates for the FIFA president, but he rejects that this should be applied to FIFA Executive Committee members as well. Instead, he made clear that the FIFA Reform Committee will approve only an age limit of 74 years old for ExCo members.
