RCD Espanyol: "We will be an example for many Chinese businesses" (Chen Yansheng, Rastar Group)

"In China, we follow Spanish football a lot and with our arrival, we will try to take advantage of all the resources of the best championship in the world to open up new markets. We will be an example for many Chinese companies," said Chen Yansheng, the president and majority shareholder of Rastar Group, the Chinese company specialising in the raw materials, manufacturing and model cars, who will acquire between 45%-56% of the capital of RCD Espanyol (Liga BBVA), on 03/11/2015.

Rastar Group announced, on 02/11/2015, that they had reached an agreement with Daniel Sanchez Llibre and Ramon Condal, two former presidents of the Barcelona club who are still among its major shareholders, as well as the club's minority shareholders. The agreement, estimated at €14m, will enable Rastar Group to buy up to 45% of the capital of RCD Espanyol. The Chinese company could, according to the Spanish media, increase its stake up to 56% in the coming months.
