Premier League: Sky Sports acquires the rights to 212 full length replays per season from 2016-2019

The British pay-TV group Sky plc has acquired the rights to broadcast full length replays of the 212 Barclays Premier League matches which are not broadcast live (or 55.8% of the total) each season during the 2016-2019 cycle, on 06/11/2015. The 168 other matches will be broadcast live by the pay-TV channels Sky Sports (126 matches) and BT Sport (42 matches).

No financial details were disclosed on the acquisition, which is the final domestic TV rights package to be sold by the Premier League for the 2016-2019 cycle. Sky Sports held those rights during the 2013-2016 cycle, however they then included 226 matches per season (59.5% of total).

As was the case in the 2013-2016 cycle, the rights acquired by Sky Sports for 2016-2019 cover linear and on-demand broadcasts, and apply to all broadcast platforms (television, Internet, mobile, tablets).
