Serie A: the businessman Giovanni Calabrò signs a letter of intent for the acquisition of Genoa CFC

Enrico Preziosi, the president and owner of Genoa CFC (Serie A TIM), confirmed the existence of a letter of intent for the club's acquisition signed by the Italian businessman Giovanni Calabrò, on 04/11/2015. "Calabrò can make this club stronger (...) By the end of the year, the deal will be concluded (...) In January 2016, we will welcome new players who will offer us more quality," said Enrico Preziosi to the Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport on 04/11/2015.

Financial details of the proposed deal were not disclosed. According to Italian media, Calfin International s.a., owned by Giovanni Calabrò, would invest €80m into the capital of Fingiochi group, property of Enrico Preziosi, which owns a 75% stake in Genoa CFC (the remaining 25% is held by the Fondazione Genoa 1893). Giovanni Calabrò would also invest €50m into the club's operating accounts, in particular to enable Genoa CFC to clear its debts.
