Colombia: Luis Bedoya resigns as president of the Federation, but remains a member of the FIFA Ex-Co

"Luis Bedoya Giraldo has submitted his irrevocable resignation for personal reasons as president and member of the executive committee of the Colombian Football Federation as of today," announced the FCF (Colombian Football Federation) on 09/11/2015. The FCF stated that this resignation was accepted by the Executive Committee and that Ramon Jeshurun, the vice-president, had been appointed interim president of the federation.

Luis Bedoya is also vice-president of CONMEBOL and member of the FIFA Executive Committee. According to the Colombian media, he should also leave these two positions in the coming days. These same media sources have linked the decision of Luis Bedoya to resign to the case that led to the indictment of 14 people - including seven FIFA officials arrested in Zurich (SUI) under charges issued by the Federal Court of Brooklyn (New York, USA), on 27/05/2015.
