NBA: Verizon (telecom) becomes a partner of the league from 2016-19 for €124.7m per year

Verizon, the American telecommunications company specialising in mobile services, has become a partner of the NBA for the 2016-2019 period, the league announced on 04/11/2015. Verizon will provide its mobile video platform "go90" for fans who have subscribed to the NBA League Pass, which provides access to view live games, highlights and behind the scenes content on any platform. The total contract is estimated at $400m (€372m), or $133m per year (€124.7m).

Verizon has also acquired the naming rights to the slam dunk contest which will take place at the All-Star Game, which will now be called the "Verizon Slam Dunk Contest". The US company will be the official partner of the "NBA Draft presented by Verizon", the NBA Summer League and the Jr. NBA. Verizon has also become a partner of the WNBA, of USA Basketball (the American Basketball Association) and the NBA Development League (minor league).
