"Our goal is to be in the top 10 of Ligue 1 by 2020, and settle permanently in the elite. To achieve this objective, we aim to increase our budget for it to reach €40m in 2020, continuing to develop the club, while preserving our culture," said Jean-Pierre Caillot, president of Stade de Reims (Ligue 1), at the club's "Horizon 2020" event, during which the club explained its project, business strategy and ambitions for the next five years, on 10/11/2015.

Stade de Reims has played in Ligue 1 since the 2012-13 season, the first time the club has been in the French top flight since the 1978-79 season, or 33 years. Since its promotion to Ligue 1, the Reims club finished 14th in 2012-13, 11th in 2013-14 and 15th in 2014-15. Stade de Reims is currently ranked 14th in the 2015-16 Ligue 1 standings after 13 matchdays with 15 points (4 wins, 3 draws and 6 losses). The club has a budget of €31m for the 2015-16 season.
