Ireland: Three (telecom) extends contract as the training kit sponsor of the national team

Three, the Irish telecommunications operator, has renewed its contract as the sponsor of the training kit for the national team of the Republic of Ireland until 2020, announced the company on 11/11/2015.

The contract is worth €8.9m total, or €2.2m per year over the 2016-2020 period. The previous contract, which covered the 2012-2016 period, was estimated at €7.5m total, or about €1.9m per year. The two parties have been associated since 2010. The contract will now expire at the end of Euro 2020.

Three has retained visibility on the LED advertising boards at the Aviva Stadium (50,000 seats), as well designated places at national team matches. As part of the partnership, the brand's clients will participate in media campaigns with the Irish football team. Three also sponsor the shirts of the Irish national rugby team for all of their official matches, except World Cup matches where sponsorship is not allowed.
