The German sports equipment supplier Uhlsport will replace adidas as the official ball supplier for Ligue 1 from the 2017-18 season until 2021-22, the LFP announced on 12/11/2015. adidas has provided the balls for Ligue 1 since the 2012-13 season.

"The official ball of Ligue 1 has been assigned to Uhlsport for a contract which is 2.5 times larger," said Frederic Thiriez, president of the LFP, on 12/11/2015. The adidas contract is estimated at nearly €500,000 annually. The future agreement with Ulhsport would be €1.2m per year. The supplier will also provide €750,000 worth of balls per season.

Uhlsport has also been a partner of the LFP for the Coupe de la Ligue since the 1999-2000 season, and will provide the ball for the 2015-16 edition of the competition. The brand is also a partner of Ligue 2 until the end of the 2016-17 season. "However, concerning the ball contracts for Ligue 2 and the Coupe de la Ligue we will have additional consultations because the offers were insufficient," said the president of the LFP.
