The British marketing and media rights agency MP & Silva has acquired the distribution of the 2016-2019 audiovisual rights to the Barclays Premier League for 28 countries in East Asia, the South-East and the Pacific Islands, on 13/11/2015. The list of countries and territories (see below) includes Japan, for which MP & Silva revealed the agreement on 10/11/2015.

These rights apply to all broadcast platforms (television, Internet, mobile and tablets). They cover the entirety of the Premier League matches each season, as well as highlights of these encounters. "Currently, 2.7 billion viewers worldwide watch the Premier League, and the Asia-Pacific region represents 38% of this total," said MP & Silva on 13/11/2015.

  • Neither the Premier League nor MP & Silva would specify exactly the 22 countries that make up the Pacific Islands distribution zone.
  • The other six countries are:
    • Japan
    • South Korea
    • Vietnam
    • Taiwan
    • The Philippines
    • Mongolia
