"We will not be defeated by gross acts of terrorism. We will not let those who committed these appalling atrocities think they have succeeded, even for a single day," said Greg Dyke, the FA chairman, in his speech to assembled dignitaries in the Wembley Suite ahead of the England - France friendly (2-0) at Wembley (London, England) on 17/11/2015.

Among the attendees of the match were Prince William, the president of FA; Boris Johnson, the mayor of London; Sylvie Bermanne, the French ambassador to the UK; and Patrick Kanner, the French minister for urban affairs, youth and sport.

"Tonight the whole world will be watching what is happening here at Wembley and what the world will see is two teams and two nations united, two teams and two nations determined to show those who support the perpetrators of Friday's terrible acts that they will not win. We will not let them win," added Greg Dyke. Noël Le Graët, president of the FFF, thanked Greg Dyke on behalf of the FFF and the French people.
