FIFA: Sergio Jadue resigs as president of the Chilean Federation, and is targeted by the US enquiry

"This morning (18/11/2015) an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the Chilean Federation was held to discuss the resignation of Sergio Jadue from his position as president. This resignation was accepted unanimously by the Executive Committee," announced the Chilean Federation on 18/11/2015.

Sergio Jadue (38 years old) had held the position of president of the Chilean Federation since 2011 and was also a vice-president of CONMEBOL. According to the Chilean media, he took a plane to the United States in the wake of his resignation to speak before the US court regarding the case that led to the indictment of 14 people -- including seven FIFA officials arrested in Zurich (SUI) -- under charges issued by the Federal Court of Brooklyn (New York, USA), on 27/05/2015.

These 14 people, which included three officials or former officials of CONMEBOL, are accused of "racketeering, financial fraud, money laundering and other offences in business fraud over the last 24 years which aimed to enrich themselves through corruption in international football".
