FIFA: ongoing negotiations for the TV rights in France for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups

French broadcasters interested in broadcasting rights, in France, for the 2018 World Cup (Russia) and 2022 World Cup (Qatar), the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup (Russia) and the Women's World Cup 2019 (France) presented their bids to FIFA on 09/11/2015.

FIFA had launched the tender for the distribution in France of the rights to these competitions on 21/09/2015. The rights cover TV, IPTV, Internet, mobile and radio (except for the Women's World Cup 2019, for which the broadcasting rights are free in France).

Negotiations with preferential dossiers began on 10/11/2015. Due to lack of satisfactory bids, FIFA has organised a second consultation for the submission of offers on 17/11/2015, according the French newspaper L'Équipe.

  • This tender is valid not only for France, but also for the French departments and territories overseas, as well as Monaco and Andorra.
