"This year we have received €600m from the sale of our media rights in Spain, and our goal is to reach €2bn during the 2019-20 season. Otherwise we will not be ability to compete against the Premier League," stated Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, during a breakfast organised by the Spanish news agency Europa Press on 18/11/2015.

The Spanish Professional Football League has launched the tender for the domestic audiovisual rights to the Liga BBVA, Liga Adelante and Copa del Rey for the 2016-2019 cycle, on 13/11/2015 (submission of offers by 27/11; official awarding of the lots on 04/12/2015).

Javier Tebas wants to reach €1bn in domestic audiovisual revenues per season during the 2016-2019 cycle, he indicated on 18/11/2015, or 61.3% more than what LaLiga receives in 2015-16 (€620m; €600m paid by Telefonica and €20m from the public broadcaster RTVE). The international audiovisual revenues of the Spanish League are valued at €600m in 2015-16.
