"I hope that we can keep the fan zones and the government will work with this purpose in order to ensure their maximum security conditions," said Patrick Kanner, the French minister of the city, youth and sports, on 22/11/2015, about Euro 2016.

"What was planned (the fan-zones) can be changed. We must never rush, but there will be more responsibilities, that is for sure," said Noël Le Graët, president of the FFF, to the daily Le Telegramme on 20/11/2015. Five to seven million fans are expected to visit the ten host cities for Euro 2016, with nearly 2 million in Paris.

A meeting on the security of the Euro 2016 is scheduled to take place at the French interior ministry on Tuesday, 24/11/2015 at 10:00 in the presence of Bernard Cazeneuve, minister of the interior, Patrick Kanner, Thierry Braillard, secretary of state for sport, Jacques Lambert, president of EURO 2016 SAS, Noël Le Graët, Alain Juppé, mayor of Bordeaux and president of the association of the host cities, and Jean-François Martins, assistant to the mayor of Paris in charge of sport and tourism.
