FIFA Club World Cup (Japan, 10-20/12/2015): Mediaset acquires the TV rights for Spain

The broadcasting group Mediaset España has acquired the broadcasting rights, in Spain, to the 2015 FIFA Club World Cup on 19/11/2015. The competition takes place in Japan from 10 to 20/12/2015.

Mediaset España will broadcast the semi-finals of River Plate (ARG) on the free channel the Energy on 16/12/2015, and FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) on the free channel Cuatro on 17/12/2015, as well as the tournament final on the free channel Telecinco on 20/12/2015 (the three matches all kick-off at 11:30 CET).

Mediaset España has previously broadcasted the 2009, 2011 and 2014 editions of the Club World Cup

  • The 2009 final, won by FC Barcelona over the Argentine club Estudiantes (2-1 a.e.t.) at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi (UAE), drew an average of 4,972,000 viewers on Telecinco, for an audience share of 34.1% on 19/12/2009 (kick-off at 17:00 CET).
  • The 2011 final, won by FC Barcelona over the Brazilian club FC Santos (4-0) at the International Stadium Yokohama (JPN), drew an average of 3.981 million viewers on Telecinco, for an audience share of 48.5% on 18/12/2011 (kick-off at 11:30…
