Euro 2016: more security in stadiums, and also inside and outside of the fan zones

Strengthening security in stadiums, maintaining the organisation of fan zones and strict supervision of mass gatherings outside the fan zones were the three major decisions announced at the end of an extraordinary meeting of the National Steering Committee for security for Euro 2016, held at the French Interior Ministry, in the presence of Bernard Cazeneuve, French Minister of the Interior; Patrick Kanner, Minister of the City, Youth and Sports; Thierry Braillard, Secretary of State for Sports; Jacques Lambert, president of EURO 2016 SAS; Alain Juppé, mayor of Bordeaux and president of the union of Euro 2016 host cities and Victoriano Melero, deputy director general of the FFF, on 24/11/2015.

This meeting follows the terrorist attacks in Paris and at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis (north of Paris) which left 130 dead and 351 wounded on 13/11/2015.
