Liga BBVA: Atletico Madrid crosses the threshold of 80,000 socios, record in the history of the club

Club Atlético de Madrid (Liga BBVA) crossed, for the first time since its creation in 1903, the threshold of 80,000 socios, the club announced on 18/11/2015.

Among the 80,000 socios of Atletico Madrid, 47,201 are season ticket subscribers at matches played by the club at the Vicente Calderon (54,900 seats). The other 32,799 are "non-subscriber socios", who receive various benefits in exchange for their membership.

The Madrid club had completed the 2014-15 season with 78,097 socios, which was already a record. This number represented an increase of over 17% compared to the previous season, with more than 12,000 additional socios in 2014-15.
